Ireland Student Visa [Type D Study Visa] Process

To study in Ireland, international students must apply for a Type D Study Visa through the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS).
Applicants must:

  • Show proof of unconditional offer from an Irish university or college.

  • Provide evidence of sufficient funds (at least €10,000 in savings plus tuition fees paid).

  • Submit academic documents, passport, and health insurance proof.

  • Prove intent to return home after studies.

Visa decisions are usually made within 4–8 weeks, and students are advised to apply well in advance. If the visa is refused, students can appeal or reapply with improved documentation.
